Hawaii 2025

This was our first trip to the Big Island, where we stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort. And unlike previous trips, we went minus Alex, who was on a school trip in Japan. Needless to say, it was a great trip! The new resort was a bit overwhelming (HUGE) at first, but once we figured out all of the shortcuts and got settled in, we all agreed it was our new favorite resort in Hawaii.

Waikoloa Highlights

  • Swimming and paddleboarding with turtles and stingrays in the lagoon.
  • Attempting a trip up to Mauna Kea, only for our poor rental car to barely make it up the hill.
  • Seeing dolphins play (and perform) at the resort.
  • Venturing to Magic Sands Beach near Kona.
  • Lots of doing nothing!

The Big Island can be pretty desolate!

Photos never do justice to the view in real life.

Reading and avoiding the sun when possible.

A tiny door within a door!

The best sunsets!
